Workaround for MySQL Shutdown Unexpectedly error:

- Close Xampp
- Open folder: xampp > mysql > data
- Backup this folder to a separate location
- Delete all existing "mysql-relay-bin" and "relay-log" files

This has restored MySQL operation for me on v3.2.4
