Index.html issue

Hi, having finally got other problem fixed with my website I now have a new one. My Website has five pages, a home page plus four others. I can acess any of other sub- pages from home page, I can even access one sub-page from another.But I can't retutn to my home page fom a sub-page. Every time I try it throws up a 404 error, URL not found and seems to be looking for index.html which I haven't defined home page as for ages. Really baffled as I have no such problems in Notepad++.

How do you try to return to your homepage? Do you click something? Any code examples?
What is the contents of your Apache access.log?

Describe as detailed as possible what you are doing and what your environment looks like. Otherwise it is impossible to try to Analyse your problem remotely.

Hi Altrea, went to xamlp control panel to run website again for access code and problem was fixed. Possibly because I'd changed name of homepage back to index. Thanks for replying anyhow.
