How do I allow indexes in Xampp?

Postby harkonenn » 10. August 2020 17:08

I would like to allow directory indexes in xampp so that when I navigate to "localhost" index files are not parsed, but I get a list of files and folders. I know this may be a very simple operation, but I can't locate a clear, step-by-step guide on how to accomplish this.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

To achieve this you need to set the following two settings in Apache for this specific folder:

Code: Select all
DirectoryIndex disabled
Options +Indexes

You can set these either by an .htaccess file in this specific folder or encapsulated by a <Directory> section in your Apache configuration files (e.g. your httpd.conf)
