All my programming code is gone

Hello,

I uninstalled xampp because mysql was not starting anymore. But, unfortunately, I also deleted the htdocs folder in which where all my code was in. And I don't know why but I can also find NOTHING in my trash, no files, folders or anything no trace from xampp at all!

Can one please help me? I am seriously depressed because all my work is gone...

The only possibility i can see is to use a file recovery software to hope to get the data back.
