Apache service failed to restart.

Hi gurus

Just tried my hands on XAMPP, installing in win10 using v7.2.30 - 64 bit. It works ok as the Control Panel allows starting of apache & mysql services. Hence my restore website & its mysql databate works fine.

Next i wanted to play with virtual host and start tinkering with 2 files i). httpd-vhosts.conf in apache and ii) host in window.sys32.drivers.etc folder.

I next try restart the 2 above services. At this point the apache service fail to restart.
Thus I then put back the original 2 files, but sitll apache service can't start.

what's happening, help the freshie. Thank you.

I read the sticky topic on failure to start Apache hence now run Control Panel v3.2.4 as Admin.

Solved: on further checking i found a error i inflicted an error line on httpd.conf ie use following instead of comment line off with #
Virtual hosts
Include conf/extra/httpd-vhosts.conf


So NOW back to playing learning to set up virtual hosts.
