problem while installing mediawiki undex xampp

xappp works fine. I unzipped my mediawiki zip file under htdocs directory when i try to reach php file i receive a 404 error
http://papa18/mediawiki34/mw-config/index.php

404 error means, file/path does not exist. Double check the pathname.

if i try http://localhost/dashboard/test.html where test.html is a little html file containing a very short php script i receive the same error.

i have found the solution. I had 2 versions of xampp installed. I put the files in the bad one.
