moving my database to new xampp installation

Hi,
I wake up today and my mysql won't start and gives me error of opening. I uninstall the xampp and made new installation but now my database is empty. Is there a way to return back? I did backup the full mysql old folder but when i put it back to the new xampp i get same error. So i need to know which files i need to take so that the database is back.
