I have problems, the SQL will not start. It has been suggested that I upgrade to the latest version of Xampp

How can I update, but keep my existing WP installations?

There is no simple solution. Full backups of all ressources (Databases, Scripts, Files, Configurations etc.), full delete of old Xampp, new installation and full restore. A very sophisticated task.
