Problems with the Windows version of XAMPP, questions, comments, and anything related.

Hello,
When I type in my domain name in a browser I am getting this error, error 403:
Access forbidden! you dont have permission to access the requested directory.
What can I do to not see this and be directed to my index.html file?

Hi,
The easiest way would be to change the DirectoryIndex setting. Move index.html to be the very first value of this setting.
Best wishes,

I don't understand what you are saying. Can you be more specific?

Edit your Apache configuration, i.e. httpd.conf and/or one of the included conf files from folder "extra", search for the setting of "DirectoryIndex" and add "index.html" to the list. Perhaps you created VirtualHosts or similar and did not specify a DirectoryIndex at all. Read Apache documentation about the meaning of DocumentIndex as well. Google will find Apache doc.
