Issue connecting to MySQL DB using perl

Hi,

I am attempting to connect to the mysql database installed with xampp (ver 7.3.6) using the perl installed with xampp and am running into this issue:

install_driver(mysql) failed: Can't load 'C:/Orbis/xampp/perl/vendor/lib/auto/DBD/mysql/mysql.dll' for module DBD::mysql: load_file:The specified module could not be found at C:/Orbis/xampp/perl/lib/DynaLoader.pm line 190.
 at (eval 4) line 3.
Compilation failed in require at (eval 4) line 3.
Perhaps a required shared library or dll isn't installed where expected
 at storage.pl line 40.

everything I have read so far appears to be several years old now, and says to install a different version of perl
- is this really the only way to fix this issue?

the file is even in version 7.4 quite old and from march 12, 2013

Same problem here as i am moving from a 2008 win xp machine to a brand new server.

Seems like the DBD::mysql doesnt work.

I cant install it via cpan also.

Any news on this problem?

Solved. You just need to install Strawberry Perl after Xampp as Perl in Xampps Distribution is incomplete.
