Problems with the Windows version of XAMPP, questions, comments, and anything related.

Hi,
I've happily setup and used Xampp for a couple of years now developing wordpress websites without having to learn too much about the
"nitty gritty" of how Xampp works. I have recently noticed it runs really slowly and even results in timeout errors.
This always used to run lightning fast and I don't know where to start to try fix this.
Appreciate any help, thanks!!

I dont think, Xampp is slow (try different scripts for test), its WordPress. You will find tons of postings about slow WordPress in Google. The reasons are varying and not only under Xampp.

1) Buy an SSD. I found that Xammp was slow on my laptop because I had a mechanical harddrive and the mysql access was very slow. An SSD fixed this.
2) Do a fresh install of the latest version of Xammp and see how that handles. It might a configuration setting you have changed and forgot.
These ideas dont gurantee a fix but they are sensible.
