Apache starts, MySQL doesn't. This is from the error.log

Hola, i am very new to this strange world of servers in general and XAMPP in particular. I want to learn Moodle, and install it "on the computer i am working on" (as localhost). I had a very similar message error you had. MySQL was not running. Read around quite a bit.....eventually, already quite frustrated, i quit Xampp, relaunched it with Administration rights. Starter Apache (OK it runs). With Apache running i started MySQL and boom: MySQL is running. My guess is that the previous time i simply forgot to run the Xampp in administration mode.
Hope it can help. Sorry for not posting the image. I did not figure out yet how to do it.
