MySQL won't run

Hi all,
Just installed Xampp x64 7.3.3 on Windows 10 Pro 64b. All works fine except MySQL. It starts and directly shuts down. There is an error log file, but it dates from 2015 and is not being renewed. The Control Panel says: "Attempting to start MySQL app...
Status change detected: running
Status change detected: stopped
Error: MySQL shutdown unexpectedly."

The only adaptions to the ini file I made is adding the IP address for binding, and changing the data directory to the location where the dabases are stored.

Any clue as to what might be wrong?

Before installing Xampp I had MySQL Community server installed and it worked fine.
