help on new installation

Developed my website with WordPress on localhost and am now ready to transfer to my domain. My host does not provide a cpanel. Will loading Xampp and Wordpress via ftp give me what I need to transfer site with Duplicator? Should they go in public_html or elsewhere?

I've done the same and the All-In-One WP Migration worked flawlessly. It brought over all my media files and plugins (Rev Slider, etc.). Only problem is, if the size of the file you're restoring, you will have to increase the upload limit and if you're behind a Plesk/cPanel you'll need the helpdesk to do that. Unless....you can find the "all-in-one-wp-migration-file-extension". Used it once, went to use again couldn't find. Luckily had the original download.

During the backup, AiO-wp-migration can translate your database settings. So when you're going from "localhost" it will change the wp database to be your actual domain name.

Good luck
