I had previously installed Enterprise Db and port 80 was in use. Logged in as network admin and Xamp bypassed that port and ran apache on the local network port instead. Is this extremely unsafe in general or just if there is a "hacker" with malicious intent using my pw protected network? I know changing the default password's is probably the key. I feel dumb posting this but I'm just hoping that knowing that I'm just learning about running a local server environment and I just used php for the first time and it worked on the site i'm working on!, I'm new so please don't judge me?

It's unsafe to use XAMPP components which are accessible from bigger networks like the internet or company intranet.

I'm not using wordpress for bitnami or anything I'm just using the xamp apache server on my network. Would using my local network for a local server be available to anyone outside of the people connected to that local network? I'm still learning "obviously" and it seems to run faster.
