Recovering lost local site

Postby ErikD9999 » 14. November 2018 04:37

Hey Friends,

I have a problem. I created a website on my laptop, and I had it locally hosted through Xampp so I could build the site before buying hosting and a domain name. However, my laptop motherboard is toast now, and I am having trouble moving it from the hard drive of that laptop to my new laptop successfully. So far, I have migrated the main website folder under the "htdocs" folder to my new Laptop, and set up Xampp and Wordpress, but It does not have all the content I had set up on the site. I found a site that told me to Export the database from the old laptop, but since the computer is fried, I cannot open Xampp and PHPMyAdmin to export it. Is there a way to manually export all the files I need, or am I misunderstanding something? I spent a lot of time building the site, and I don't want it to go to waste. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Hi,

Why don't you simply copy the entire xampp folder?

Best wishes,
