apache stopped working.

Postby samjpaint » 27. October 2018 23:52

I have been sing apache v3.2.2 for a few months. It has been working fine up until a few days ago. I received a windows update and after that apache stopped working. I was working on a website and database for my wife's jewelry site and now can't work on it. I get this error message:

Error: Apache shutdown unexpectedly.
6:38:14 PM [Apache] This may be due to a blocked port, missing dependencies,
6:38:14 PM [Apache] improper privileges, a crash, or a shutdown by another method.
6:38:14 PM [Apache] Press the Logs button to view error logs and check
6:38:14 PM [Apache] the Windows Event Viewer for more clues
6:38:14 PM [Apache] If you need more help, copy and post this
6:38:14 PM [Apache] entire log window on the forums

I do not use port 80. I use port 10080 and 4433 (I had trouble when I first installed it).
How can I get it restarted?

I also have been having the same problem recently, and I am getting the same error message. (I do use port 80.) Any suggestions for how to resolve this problem?

I found the solution by reading a bunch of the posts in this forum on similarly named subjects and eliminating the responses that didn't apply to my problem. The fix was to uninstall Skype and turn off World Wide Web Publishing Service. Thanks for those of you who contributed to my finding this solution.

I have been looking at all posts, video, etc and can't find the solution. I can't access phpmyadmin where my database is. i don't have world wide web publishing and skype is on a different port. Is there anyone who can help me get apache back to working or how I can access the database and move it to another server til I can get apache working again.

Thank you.

Difficult to analyse without sufficient information.

I have been using apache through xampp 3.2.2. After i received a windows update The apache stopped working and I received this message:

Error: Apache shutdown unexpectedly.
11:53:34 AM [Apache] This may be due to a blocked port, missing dependencies,
11:53:34 AM [Apache] improper privileges, a crash, or a shutdown by another method.
11:53:34 AM [Apache] Press the Logs button to view error logs and check
11:53:34 AM [Apache] the Windows Event Viewer for more clues
11:53:34 AM [Apache] If you need more help, copy and post this
11:53:34 AM [Apache] entire log window on the forums

I changed the port numbers and still no luck. I need to access the data base to retrieve the information on a site I was building for my wife and can't.
I need to know how to access phpmyadmin to retrieve the information

Read the Q&A thread above and provide the additional information written there, otherwise it is impossible to identify your issue.
And undo the change of the port, that don't lead to an answer, instead it makes.debuging at this time so more difficult.

I checked the aqpache_start.bat and received this message:

Diese Eingabeforderung nicht waehrend des Running beenden
Bitte erst bei einem gewollten Shutdown schliessen
Please close this command only for Shutdown
Apache 2 is starting ...
httpd.exe: Syntax error on line 182 of C:/xampp/apache/confhttp.conf: Cannot load modules/mod_php.so into server: The specified module cannot be found.

Apache konnte nicht gestartet werden
Apache could not be started
Drücken Sie eine beliebige Taste . . .

I am new when it comes to databases and servers. So what can I do here and will it allow me to access phpmyadmin?

You still did not provide all needed information.
It is still not clear which XAMPP version you are using. v3.2.2 is NOT the XAMPP version number.

Would you have provide the entire control panel log information as described in the Q&A this information would already be visible for us.
My testserver XAMPP installation does not include a mod_php.so in the httpd.conf.
Maybe it is also helpful to know the contents of your httpd.conf file.

Is this a clean install or did you upgrade an existing version?
And did you made any changes in the configs?
