Where can I see witch version of PHP is running on my installed XAMPP? I forgot and was puzzled by the control panel that suggested I was on version v3.2.2. but that seems to be true just for the control panel. I have trouble to find out where to find the information about versions of software running on XAMPP.

There are multiple ways.
The easiest way would be the message log window in the control panel. One of the first lines there gives you the XAMPP version number which should be the same than the included php version.
