Basic questions before starting

Hi,
I have not yet installed XAMPP. My purpose is to install Joomla by way of XAMMP.
However, I have some basic questions that were not answered on the FAQ. I will do the install on my local laptop, running Windows7.
1) I have a local install of MySQL 5.7 installed as a service. I believe XAMPP will allow me to use it.
2) I also have a local install as a service Apache 2.4. Will XAMPP allow me to use that?
3) PHP 7.2.6 is also installed. This version, I believe, is a higher version than XAMPP currently supports. Can XAMPP use my currently installed version?

XAMPP is really a collection of several items. Those are 3 of the core items. Perhaps you are just wanting to use the control panel? It sounds like you don’t need XAMPP at all.
