Sending information from websites

Postby hobbyist2 » 29. May 2018 17:58

I am trying to figure out how I send the information (login account sign up etc.) from the local publish website to the XAMPP database. Can you link any threads on this or recommend tutorials if no one has time to explain?

Just Google "create a login script with xampp" and this will get you going.

I am having trouble finding a good tutorial that uses both XAMPP and PHP and mysql.

What I did watch and review was that you create the document using Sublime text. What I am confused about is where you place the document after you have created it.

I think you need to learn a lot.

Can you open http://localhost ??

If so, you can open the folder on your pc : xampp/htdocs and put your php file there, and open it.

Further more, look first for PHP tutorials...

I can open localhost. The file goes in htdocs from what I can tell.

So the htdocs login file is connected to your website when you create the login file? So when you use XAMPP to test several websites the login file connects to the individual website by name when you create each login file?

Creating my website has been easy up until now. This is very new to me. So try and have some patience with me lol.

I will hire a tutor. It cant be more than a couple hours to teach me how to write the script and use XAMPP as a webhost.

XAMPP is not made for live, production or public accessible environments.
XAMPP is not configurated for such environments (default passwords, many activated and probably unnecessary modules, not tweaked for performance, scalability, stability or security). This board does have several entrys about hacked XAMPP installations because of using unprotected XAMPP installations in not supported environments. XAMPP don't want to fit every possible use case and there are other (also free) alternatives for such environments.
We don't provide any support via personal channels like PM, email, Skype, TeamViewer!

It's like porn for programmers 8)

Hmmm - unsure about that. Are you a skilled PHP programmer? If not, its hard to determine how long education may take.

It's quite a big learning curve. If its a one off thing it may be easier to find a freelance programmer and get him to set it up for you. Sites like upwork make it easy to hire a programmer for a couple of hours.
