You configured HTTP(80) on the standard HTTPS(443) port!

Hi, I am sure this question has been asked before, but I can't find anything that will help.

I get the above error when I try to start Apache in XAMPP. I have looked at the ports and in fact changed port 80 to 8080 (and specified the change in the url etc). The thing that really gets me is that it all worked last week and now doesn't. What have I changed?? I put a different virus protection program on, but in sorting out what's now happening, I tried turning it off - no change. So I can't relate the problem to the change.

I have only a very basic understanding of all this, so answers may need to be written for a dummy!!!

Many thanks, Bruce

Is that a message from Xampp? I dont think so, I've never seen such a message. Which tool or software gives that message??

And please show us more precisely what you did to change ports, which files did you edit, which changes did you do (show us some file contents) etc.

I now have the same problem, moved from W7 to W10, copied the files over, and get the above message in the Xampp error log - twice.

[ssl:warn] [pid 4040:tid 308] AH01916: Init: (localhost:443) You configured HTTP(80) on the standard HTTPS(443) port!

I don't use https locally with xampp, and I can't see 443 in http_conf, v_hosts, or config.inc

Help, anyone?

Well, I solved my problem. Some of the URLS in the conf files had C:/, when I thought that I had changed it to D:/

So, if you are having the same problem as I had, check the paths leading to your files.
