Path problem

Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong in trying to use a sub-folder to develop/test web pages?
The path I am trying to use is: http://localhost/xampp/htdocs/ggd/index.html etc. Keep getting a 404 errors
Any help would be appreciated !

Don't use this part in red:
http://localhost/xampp/htdocs/ggd/index.html
