Apache is crashing under certain circumstances

I am running xampp 3.2.2 and php 5.6.28 and xdebug 2.5.4. I am using win7 64 bit and phpstorm 2017.2.1. Whenever I use xdebug, apache crashes. When I run my same app w/o debug, no crash. The same happened last week for a few days. Then it stopped crashing without my intervention. It ran fine for a few more days, and now it is again crashing every time I run it.

What do I do? Should I update xampp or just xdebug? Or is it an apache config issue? Please help!
