Problems with the Windows version of XAMPP, questions, comments, and anything related.

I'm currently running a very old version of xampp, control panel 2.5 , PHP Version 5.2.9 . I thought it's about time I get with the times and upgrade to php 7. Is there anyway I can simply upgrade my current version or do I need to do a fresh instal of the latest version of XAMPP? Hoping mainly to retain my current settings files rather than try to transfer them to any new version.
Thanks

Hi,
There is no upgrade way. So changing to a different XAMPP version always needs a fresh install and migration of your applications and settings.
best wishes,

Thanks, are there any simple ways of transferring across php.ini settings? I'm assuming I can't use my old one with the new php7 as it's around 6 years old now.
