Apache will not start with DocumentRoot set to network path

Postby Coastalguy » 11. August 2017 20:34

I am trying to set the DocumentRoot to a network path, so I can access my databases from both my desktop and laptop. However, whether I use the IP path (\\192.168.x.x\folder) or a mapped drive letter (W:\folder), stopping and restarting Apache, Apache will not start. Only resetting it to a local drive, will it start. The network drive is available under File Explorer and other application "open" options. So I am not sure why it will not recognize a network path.

Because maybe the user Apache is started with has not sufficient user rights to access or write to this path.
