Fatal error when using ODBC Source in PHP

Hi,

I am using XAMPP version 5.6.31 for Mac os 10.11.6 (El Capitan) when I use PHP to access any ODBC Source I get the following error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function odbc_connect() in /Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/htdocs/test_odbc.php on line 7

Any Ideas to solve this issue? It seems that PHP doesn't have the odbc extension activated.
