Domain Name Not showing

im not sure whether this is the right place to use but im using xampp anyways. so i have a domain and all of that (with 123 reg.co.uk) and when the domain has been entered it points to my site however at the address bar it shows my ip instead of the domain name. i have followed steps to resolve this but to no avail so i am asking for anyones help, what might be the problem.
