XAMPP on Windows Server 2016 Considerations

I am thinking of installing XAMPP on a windows server 2016 (this is a test server the company has). I just intend to use this Windows Server in order to temporarily develop a PHP app from there and afterwards deploy to debian jessie. I am NOT intending to access the development APP (on the windows server) from the outside word. I just want run localhost.
Although, this is just a test windows server. I need to maintain the server secure. The question is, whether I need to somehow secure the Windows server 2016 or configure XAMPP somehow after installation in order to maintain the same security level previous to the XAMPP Installation.
