How to use xampp

Postby oth125 » 17. December 2016 19:36

hi ;
I am wondering if any body knew how to use the install option of xampp called (--prefix) to direct installer to use specific directory ( for example d:\XAMPP) instead of xampp .
actually Iam installing xampp programmatically --mode unattended , but getting no luck using --prefix ; thinking some thing is wrong in the syntax ; So any help ?

I even did not know that there is such an (official documented) option?! Is there any documentation or readme about that for Windows?

??

I have no idea, what "xampp.exe" is and where you got it from. My Xampp installation does not contain an xampp.exe and i dont know anything about it.

Ok, so that means that this screen is kind of "helpscreen" what you get when you run "xampp.exe --help" or similar?

If it is so, Bitnami probably planned (or plans) to realize a --prefix option similar to other linux installers. But as this is only helpscreen, its hard to determine, whether this option already has been implemented or this screen is simply a step into the future. As long as there is NO official documentation (i.e. FAQ) about that option (i could not find anything in the linux FAQ), this option is not supported officially. Probably a reason, why it does not seem to work (and probably the reason, why i never have seen or heard about it).
