Need a little help with apache xampp php problem.

So i downloaded xampp recently and i installed apache and mysql, configured them both and apache is up and running, now ive written a very basic registry system in php on notepad++ but i have no idea where to upload the files to? Ive tried using the import option on the mysql interface and i get an error about sql syntax, also i though htdocs folder on my drive was the actual server?

I bet im way off here huh, well any tips or even a link in the right direction is much appreciated, thanks.

Your PHP files can be saved inside htdocs.
