Hi, just installed XAMPP into Window10.
Now it seems that I am "not running with administrator rights". I am the only user and admin of this laptop and cannot find any place to change the rights.
Anyone out there who can help this not-nerd :?

14:44:24 [main] XAMPP Version: 5.6.23
14:44:24 [main] Control Panel Version: 3.2.2 [ Compiled: Nov 12th 2015 ]
14:44:24 [main] You are not running with administrator rights! This will work for
14:44:24 [main] most application stuff but whenever you do something with services
14:44:24 [main] there will be a security dialogue or things will break! So think
14:44:24 [main] about running this application with administrator rights!
14:44:24 [main] XAMPP Installation Directory: "c:\xampp\"

Hello,

You can also set this permanently by right clicking on the XAMPP Control Panel shortcut and selecting Properties => Shortcut Tab => Advanced => Check "Run as administrator".

Stephen

I am new ("brand new") to Apache. I only just downloaded it today.
You stated that to permanently set Administrator rights, you need to right click on the shortcut <item>.
I can't find anything that resembles this on my Control Panel (V3.2.2) and could use some help please.
I have tried right click(ing) everything I can see - to no avail.

cheers
Philfr

please ignore my last "dumb" question.
I needed to click the "Advanced" option in the properties box first.

Now when I click on the shortcut, it runs as Administrator, but the "Admin" buttons in the Control Panel are still greyed out.
Does this affect anything?

many thanks again
Philfr

The Admin button of each component is greyed out as long as this specific component in not running.
