File size limit ovecoming

Postby ecoduma » 29. June 2016 17:15

Hi, there!

Once I've solved one problem with setting up XAMPP, another one rushed out.
Trying to install a plugin I got such a message: 'The uploaded file exceeds the upload_max_filesize directive in php.ini'

Just found a php.ini in the directory /php/ and up the max size limit - no result, all the same!

What should I do over that? How many are those files in the package? Can I find anywhere more or less complete user guide for XAMPP (WTH) in order not dropping in here for every trouble of which there will be a whole pile ahead I suspect.

Thank you very much,

Did you stop and start Apache when you changed the setting? Did you get the right size? Did you edit the actual setting and not the example setting?

Thank you, don't worry, I've already gotten an answer from my peers.

Yes of course, only keep in mind, that Xampp is NOT a software. Xampp is a collection of software, a so called distribution. You will find complete documentation on the corresponding sites of each tool, for example see http://httpd.apache.org/ for Apache guide, see www.php.net for PHP guide and www.mysql.com for MySQL (or https://mariadb.com/ for MariaDB, what is released in newer Xampp releases).

Bye for now,

Keeping the solution as secret is a very well known strategy to never again get any support from a community driven board.
We don't provide any support via personal channels like PM, email, Skype, TeamViewer!

It's like porn for programmers 8)
