Hi There

I have installed XAMPP 5.6.21 and have Apache with MySQL running. I have then put wordpress on and this is also running.
I now want to be able to see this URL from another pc on the same network but I cant for the life of me get it to work.
Just get the page cannot be displayed. I have tried the wordpress and XMAPP welcome page. Wokrs fine locally to the pc i installed it on.

What am i missing.

Sorry will try and give some more details.

I have Xampp and wordpress installed on a local server 2008 and it works fine using the localhost
If I then go to a PC sitting on the same subnet and put the http:// then the ip or name of the server if just get page cannot be displayed.

Can you ping that IP?

Yes i can ping the server using name or ip.
I can also access a network share

Okay, what is the full error message you get?

This Page cant be displayed.

This is trying http://name of server/wordpress or htpp://names of server/dashboard

I have also tried to edit the wp-config file and change the localhost to the server name and that works locally on the server but not on the lan.

I think its a firewall issue.

Yes just found the problem with port 80 being blocked. So put the firewall rule in and its now working.

if you use Windows OS , You have to open port http (Port 80) in your windows firewall
