Xampp won't start

So, when try to run the .exe file that is downloaded, it just won't start. So i try the ones from sourceforge, i saw the .exe file name is different, but that file also won't start. Then read some of the threat from here, so i did turn off the uac, and click the run administrator, still does not work.
should i debug it, and run it from dos ( c:\)..., please advise

This is very unspecific. Try to describe as detailed as possible.
What happens exactly?
Is there an error message popping up?
Do you find a related process of this exe in your task manager?
You could try to use the .zip version too.
