Real trouble

This XAAMP software really seems to be a pain, I have never had this much trouble on a regular host

So when I install wordpress with bitnami (which is crap) all sortso f stuff breaks

When I roll my own (which is much more reliable) I am still seeing some strange issues like

I try to install a theme (nothing unusual) and I am confronted with this error, lets work through this error first as there a bunch more

Its easier to install on a live host then it is on my own computer!!!!!

• This is a very very very common error message you can find with help of a search engine. Did you already try to find a solution on your own? Please read the section "Be proactive" at the Forum rules:

You are not able to follow the most basic guidelines of a community board. So maybe the problem is not XAMPP?
XAMPP cannot fit every need of each of the hundred of thousand webapplications available. So the need of changing one or two php config values does not mean that the software itself is a pain. That is what config files are made for, to make something configurable.
