Hi,

This is my first time working on my own desktop/server. I have not experience with XAMPP or similar programs.
After installing XAMPP I encounter some problems when trying to start Apache and MySQL, i have tried reading on this forum and elsewhere on the internet. I have tryed with the SKYPE fix and diabled anti virus but are still unable to fix the problem.

I get and error message that i am unable to understand, it as following:

Apache:

11:48:54 PM [Apache] You need to uninstall/disable/reconfigure the blocking application
11:48:54 PM [Apache] or reconfigure Apache and the Control Panel to listen on a different port
11:48:54 PM [Apache] Attempting to start Apache app...

MySQL

Hope someone could be kind to guide me to find a solutions as I really would love to work with Wordpress in a test environment on my computer.

You tried this? Regards, leaning

Go to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services
Find “World Wide Web Publishing Service”
Right click and select “Stop”
Right click and select “Properties”, then change “Startup type” to “Manual”

Then retry your installation.
