xampp 5.6.3. - recovery - xampp 5.6.15. Dashboard/splash

Hello.
Last weekend, I've made an laptop recovery. I was using 5.6.3. and everytime I've got http://localhost/xampp/index.php in my browsers.
Now after the recovery, I've installed today a new version 5.6.15, and the xampp/index.php is gone. My browsers give me http://localhost/dashboard/
I've looked in the backup, and I've noticed that in 5.6.3. the htdocs/xampp folder is full of files.
In 5.6.15 however are only 3 files.
I've tried to install version 5.6.15 3 times, but the same problem occurs.
The install took also a long time. Normally a few minutes, but version 5.6.15 almost 20 minutes.
My question: does this new version 5.6.15 (I've also tried 7.01 without luck) must have htdocs/xampp/index.php or is this dashboard thing new and suppose to be like this?
I liked the localhost/xampp/index.php with the menu "welcome, status, safety, applications, telephone book etc etc"
I'm thinking of deleting version 5.6.15. and install 5.6.3. again.
Please could someone answer my question?
Thank you.
Rene
