php files and the virtual serveur apach

I'm à begginner on web application program.
I'd like to interconnect m'y virtual server ans PHP files, i can do write thé PHP programs and put them in htdocs..but it dosent when i include the files in a HTML file ans using my browse internet explorer ...what should i do to get it right? Thanks for reponsing...

What do you mean with "include the files in a HTML file"?? HTML does not know an "include" statement (but PHP does), could you give an code example? And tell us, how do you open the PHP file in your browser?

And what is your "virtual server"? What do you mean by that?
