Problem with apache.

Postby jprodriguez » 23. December 2015 23:57

I am installing xampp, but when running apache I get the following error:

Status change detected: stopped
23:20:30 [Apache] Error: Apache shutdown unexpectedly.
23:20:30 [Apache] This May be due to a blocked port, missing dependencies,
23:20:30 [Apache] improper privileges to crash, or a shutdown by another method.
23:20:30 [Apache] Press the button to view Logs Error logs and check
23:20:30 [Apache] the Windows Event Viewer for more clues
23:20:30 [Apache] If you need more help, copy and post esta
23:20:30 [Apache] Entire log window on the forums

How can I solve that.

Thank you in advance for your help.

We don't provide any support via personal channels like PM, email, Skype, TeamViewer!

When I start the control panel the following appears:

Code: Select all
2:09:50 [main] All prerequisites found
2:09:50 [main] Initializing Modules
2:09:50 [Apache] Problem detected!
2:09:50 [Apache] Port 80 in use by "Unable to open process" with PID 4!
2:09:50 [Apache] Apache will not start without the configured ports free!
2:09:50 [Apache] You need to uninstall / disable / reconfigure the application blocking
2:09:50 [Apache] or reconfigure Apache and the Control Panel to listen on a different port
2:09:50 [main] Starting Check-Timer
2:09:50 [main] Control Panel Ready

When I press start apache I get the above written, and if I press start on MySQL starts without problem.

No log file is created.

XAMPP version is 5.6.3

Seems that you may not have an Apache problem. Edge seems to be the culprit. I have Windows 10 and the same problem. Received possible solution at http://www.tenforums.com/browsers-email/6257-edge-browser-cant-access-localhost-type-ip-addresses-build-10122-a-2.html . Go through the posts. I
will try the suggested command-line solutions (with admin): ~C:\WINDOWS\system32>checknetisolation LoopbackExempt -a -n=Microsoft.Windows.Spartan_cw5n1h2txyew or CheckNetIsolation LoopbackExempt -a -n=Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe .
