Error: Apache shotdown ubexpectably

Postby chutko » 13. December 2015 09:58

Suddenly can't start XAMPP 5.6.11 Control Panel v3.2.1. MySQL starts OK, Apache doesn't start and creates the following messages in the error.log file: AH01909: www.example.com:443:0 server certificate does NOT include an ID which matches the server name. Skype is off, ports 80 and 443 are free. Nevertheless I 've tried to change ports to 8080 and 444 - no results, I reset them back to 80 and 443. It doesn't start also when I run it as admin and with Firewall turned off. Before everything was fine, I didn't do anything, just turn it on today and run into that problem. Please help! Thanks a lot in advance!

This is only a harmless warning, simply ignore it. You did not tell us, whether Apache is running or not (you only tell about this message).

This is a bad idea. Instead you should look into the Xampp Dialog for more error messages, as well into the error_log. Also try to run Xampp as Administrator (right click on Xampp Icon and choose "Run as Administrator").

Hi Nobbie,

That time Apache wasn't running..... However after a couple days it began to work without any problems and with no any action from my side! I successfully worked a few days but today it stopped again with the same messages! I tried to run xampp as administrator - no result. Our company admin told me that it happens some times and the only thing I can do is just try to reset computers a few times (more than 3).

This is the dialog:

9:06:24 PM [Apache] Attempting to start Apache app...
9:06:25 PM [Apache] Status change detected: running
9:06:26 PM [Apache] Status change detected: stopped
9:06:26 PM [Apache] Error: Apache shutdown unexpectedly.
9:06:26 PM [Apache] This may be due to a blocked port, missing dependencies,
9:06:26 PM [Apache] improper privileges, a crash, or a shutdown by another method.
9:06:26 PM [Apache] Press the Logs button to view error logs and check
9:06:26 PM [Apache] the Windows Event Viewer for more clues
9:06:26 PM [Apache] If you need more help, copy and post this
9:06:26 PM [Apache] entire log window on the forums

and last three records in the apache error.log:

[Sun Dec 20 21:50:10.672832 2015] [ssl:warn] [pid 10492:tid 236] AH01909: www.example.com:443:0 server certificate does NOT include an ID which matches the server name
[Sun Dec 20 21:50:10.866843 2015] [mpm_winnt:notice] [pid 10492:tid 236] AH00354: Child: Starting 150 worker threads.
[Mon Dec 21 01:54:23.909949 2015] [mpm_winnt:notice] [pid 9420:tid 224] AH00428: Parent: child process 10492 exited with status 1073807364 -- Restarting.

But right now I paid attention that these last three string stay the same including date and time if I turn off and restart xampp. It looks like it doesn't write anything new in the log file.

Sorry I have to change date and time to my own Pacific but I still don't know how to do it. Will try to find the guide in Google...

I am a newbee with xampp and absolutely confused.............................
