phpMyAdmin Error; "Access denied!"

Recently I came across an issue with MySQL, it wouldn't allow me to run on port '3306' the default port for MySQL. So I simply just changed the MySQL port, easy enough. Editing MySQL's port via; "Control Panel > Config > Service and Port Settings > MySQL > Main Port" and changing '3306' to '8080' then continuing by editing MySQL's config document 'my.ini'. I do not know if this was the correct method for changing the port however MySQL has run fine ever since (hope that helps anyone who's facing problem running MySQL on their current port).
I'm now currently facing another issue since I overcame the port error. PHPMyAdmin's repeatedly denying me access. Coming up with; "Cannot connect: invalid settings". I've checked through the settings and have found no issue? Anyone know how this can be solved?
Full error code:
Control panel seems to be running perfectly fine, both Apache and MySQL are starting on their set ports without any error codes appearing on the panel. I only came across this issue when trying to access /phpmyadmin.
