Hi, can someone please help?
I need to disable the /security/ alias as this path is part of our website structure. Can this be done and is it ok to do it?

No. That is only part of an example.
If you are unsure, create a VirtualHost, assign a different DocumentRoot and put your files there (into a brand new, empty folder).
