Setting up Apache

Postby thbr02 » 06. October 2015 20:33

Iv'e installed XAMPP 5.6.12 but the Apache will shutdown every time I try to start it. I can read the message:

Code: Select all
21:01:50  [Apache]    Error: Apache shutdown unexpectedly.
21:01:50  [Apache]    This may be due to a blocked port, missing dependencies,
21:01:50  [Apache]    improper privileges, a crash, or a shutdown by another method.
21:01:50  [Apache]    Press the Logs button to view error logs and check
21:01:50  [Apache]    the Windows Event Viewer for more clues
21:01:50  [Apache]    If you need more help, copy and post this
21:01:50  [Apache]    entire log window on the forums

In the error.log I can read:

Code: Select all
[Tue Oct 06 21:01:47.913049 2015] [ssl:warn] [pid 6824:tid 588] AH01909: www.example.com:443:0 server certificate does NOT include an ID which matches the server name

Am I supposed to change the www.example.com any where?

No. Thats only a warning.

Instead you should find out, what is blocking your Apache Ports 80 / 443.

Thank you for your answer. I found a solution of my problem at https://community.apachefriends.org/f/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=71620. I stopped the World Wide Web Publishing Service and the Apache started fine.
