Dashboard issue?

I've just completely trashed my last install of XAMPP and went through a new fresh install of the latest version to find that the applications page still lists old bitnami module installations... Has anyone come across this? The applications.html was recreated by the installer, i'm certain of that as I manually deleted the remnants of the files in the xampp installation folder, hence the new install recreated everything.
I thought maybe apache was serving the file from memory but i've since uninstalled and reinstalled XAMPP and also have cleared cache and restarted computer a bunch of times
any takes?
