Dear Friend
it's just a rights problem.
Please try to Run XAMPP control like "Run As Administrator".
I hope you'll get success!

XAMPP Wordpress Upload problem!

I'm using XAMPP 5.6.12 with Windows 10 and can run Apache and MySQL ok. But when I try to upload files in Wordpress it doesn't seem to work (files don't show up in ../wp-content/uploads/) and thumbnails are not generated. There are read/write rights on the upload directory and I've never before had this problem with a default XAMPP installation.

Also PHP Uploads are enabled and the upload size is large enough. No relevant errors are showing up in Apache or PHP logs.
I've also tried running XAMPP in Administrator mode, disabling UAC and running XAMPP in Windows 8 compatibility mode but it doesn't fix my problem.

How can I fix this?

Trying to disable Win10 using port 80. Following instructions, I found no service called world wide web or similar in computer management/services

https://www.dropbox.com/s/ykpu821xio7aaf7/snip_20151115142954.png?dl=0

Whatis the effect of disabling this port? Does it stop my internet?

Hi, when I open XAMPP I do so as administrator and I have sorted out all the port problems, the control panel looks like this:
5:28:33 PM [main] Initializing Control Panel
5:28:33 PM [main] Windows Version: Pro 32-bit
5:28:33 PM [main] XAMPP Version: 5.6.14
5:28:33 PM [main] Control Panel Version: 3.2.2 [ Compiled: Nov 12th 2015 ]
5:28:33 PM [main] Running with Administrator rights - good!
5:28:33 PM [main] XAMPP Installation Directory: "c:\xampp\"
5:28:33 PM [main] Checking for prerequisites
5:28:33 PM [main] All prerequisites found
5:28:33 PM [main] Initializing Modules
5:28:33 PM [mysql] XAMPP MySQL is already running on port 3306
5:28:33 PM [main] Starting Check-Timer
5:28:33 PM [main] Control Panel Ready

However, when I start Apache it still stops. I'm sure you've seen the error message before however in error log this is shown:

I have a problem. When I install xampp-win32-5.6.14-4-VC11-installer a can't start apache server. I try to look for ' WorldWideWeb ' service as described on this site and on the internet and disable it, but I can't find that service in Computer Management ----> Services.
So, I change settings so that I don't use port 80 and port 443 but ports ie. 1800 and 1443 and that does the trick. So I manage to start my apache server and MSQL and manage to start my PHPMyAdmin page.

But then, when I restart my computer I [b]can start all the services that I need (apache and MSQL) but I can't opet PHPMyAdmin any more.
It just displays

"Error 404. PAGE NOT FOUND".

I don't know what to do. Please help
