Change only MySQL location.

I've seen the posts about moving the entire xampp location, but this is not what I want to do.

I installed a second drive (SSD) on my PC and for speed I want to just change the MySQL location on my system. I've seen comments about just xcopying the 'C:\xampp\mysql\data\*.*' folder to the new drive but there must be one or more config files to modify. I'm not an expert so I'm not sure what else to do or if this will even work.

Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.

XAMPP is not optimized for performance.
moving your MySQL data folder to an ssd will not make your MySQL incredibly fast.
There are other settings which are much more important for speed improvement.

But as you already mentioned, you are not an expert. Why do you wanna do that?
