I have an old legacy application(very important project) that requires php 5.2 or no later than php 5.3.3. I have xampp 1.7.1 for this software working fine on MS Vista.
now for normal situations I keep up with the latest versions. This is an exception which has no near-term alternative.

Problem: I am working toward an Operating System Upgrade to either Windows 7 or 8.1. Reason - free upgrade to 10. I am ultimately moving the very latest windows & office versions. I will be moving to a whole new laptop & moving all my tools & projects so I can't just keep xampp 1.7.1 on the old machine. Above all, I need compatibility info for Windows 10.

Unfortunately, nowhere including the forums could I find this OS version compatibility info especially regarding Windows 10 for these older xampp versions.

So, What is the Windows OS compatibility of xampp 1.7.1-1.8 versions for Windows 7, 8, 8.1 & the new Windows 10?

I know it may need a best guess, but help would be appreciated .Thinking someone here probably knows.

Even very old XAMPP versions are running fine on Windows 7 OS, i have tested this myself.
I don't Know any incompatibilities to Windows 8 and 8.1.
But for Windows 10 i don't have a clue.
