Attach domain directly to XAMPP

Postby midler » 15. June 2015 19:22

Hello friends!

I must say that I don't know many thinks and my knowledge is not enough to solve this problem.

So, I have Windows 7 as my server that is turned on day and night. I have also domain name, for example, mysite.com. I want to enter mysite.com using my server based on XAMPP. I don't want redirects or anything like that. Can I create own NS server? My provider allows me to change NS-es any time. If necessary, I can install Linux on my server too.

Can you advice me a good tutorial/program? Any help will be great.

Thanks.

Judging from your questions I strongly disadvise you from running anything directly connected to the internet. Running a server 24/7 is a huge responsibility (including legal implications), XAMPP is not designed to run on a production machine and correctly configuring a nameserver nothing done in a few minutes.

There are a lot of webhosting providers on the internet, most of them are quite cheap (at least cheaper then running a computer 24/7 at home).
