]I am new to all of this, so please forgive me if I am missing something obvious.
I installed xampp on my Windows box and got it up and running with no problems. I have an issue with the file structure where there is no notable "html" or "www" folder, but figure it's just "htdocs". I assumed, incorrectly that there would be a direct correlation between my hosting provider's file structure and XAMPPs. In other words, regardless of what all you have to install to support XAMPP, I was thinking you would leave me with one shiny ROOT or HTDOCS folder from which everything else would grow.
So when I installed the Wordpress plugin using Bitnami, I find that there is no logical way to get from the HTDOCS folder of my local install using XAMPP to any of the other documents in XAMPP because Wordpress is stored in APPS/Wordpress and the default url is LOCALHOST/wordpress/ which is not compatible with any of my IDE's.
Why didn't WP install automatically in HTDOCS from XAMPP and use HTDOCS as root?
What can I do to resolve this. I don't want to have to uninstall XAMPP just to get a logical file structure that is consistent with every other on-line host out there. I am sure I am missing something obvious, any help would be greatly appreciated.
