Using XAMPP with a tablet

Hi,

I'm currently using XAMPP v3.2.1 on my PC. Via a phone application using wifi, I can successfully send data to my PC (with access point), and perform the required actions based on the called PHP files.

Is it possible to remove the need for a PC and access point, and replace it with a Windows tablet installed with XAMPP, using a Hotspot?

If the tablet runs a regular Windows this should work. However, the resources (CPU, RAM) are rather limited compared to a regular computer. Additional tuning of the servers (especially Apache & MySQL if used) might be necessary to cope with this limitations.
If the tablet runs Windows Phone this will most probably not work as those are specialized OS with limited compatibility towards regular Windows OS.
Do you have a tablet to try this out or are you planning on buying one?

Also you could consider running your scripts on a real world server, hosting for PHP (and MySQL) you can get for as low as a buck per month.

The tablet I intend on using cannot make calls or sms.

I can get my hands on a Bauhn 10inch tablet (http://ausdroid.net/2014/10/23/new-tablet-phone-bauhn-launchin-aldi-saturday-november-1st/) for testing. I'm a little concerned, if I make this tablet a hotspot (containing XAMPP) and attempt to use a phone to connect with the tablet (and using XAMPP), is this possible?

I'd prefer to steer away from running scripts on a real world server for now.

Hi,

XAMPP will not run on Android.
There are webserver bundles for Android available for Android but because of the limitations i think you will not get happy with it.

IT'S JUST MY EXPLORATION, I'M USING A ROUTER FOR CONNECT PC,LAPTOP, TABLET OR OTHER DEVICE WITH WIFI. SO, I CAN USING XAMPP ON INTRANET.
